MSI hat für die bald stattfindende Consumer Electronic Show, kurz CES, in Las Vegas eine interessante Pressemitteilung veröffentlicht. Es geht um das MSI Wind U115, über das wir bereits einige Male berichtet hatten. Diesmal aber nicht um die Hybridfunktion, sondern über die wirklich lange Akkulaufzeit von bis zu 12 Stunden, bei einem 6-Zellen Akku. Dieser Wert kann sich durchaus sehen lassen und wir sind gespannt ob dieser Wert auch in der Praxis machbar ist.

U115 Hybrid has its OS installed in the SSD, thereby greatly reducing boot time and improving operational efficiency. More specially, during ECO Mode, the system will shut off SATA disk will temporarily and only work with the low-power-consuming SSD, which will impress users with its amazing long-term battery life.

eigentlich eine logisch Konsequenz aus den derweil steigenden Energiepreisen. Gerade für die westlichen Nation ist dieser Schritt schon seit langen Notwendig. Der Bedarf an Energie deckt sich nicht mit den Resourcen der westlichen Nationen. Es müssen also zwangläufig und schnell neue Wege gefunden werden. Selbst der Herstellung, der teuerste Prozess im Ganzen, kann es nicht so weitergehen. Denke am Ende dieses Jahres werden 12 Std. völlig normal sein.
Was wirklich wünschenwert wäre, wäre eine Norm für Akkus. Nicht dass jedes Gerät seinen eigenen Akku besitzt. Dieses ist im Grunde immer noch Volksverarsche wenn die Unternehmen sich dann mit 12 Std. Akku-Laufzeit und max. 8 Watt Energieverbrauch selbst auszeichnen und die Verfügbarkeit eines Akkus die Lebenzeit des Rechners mitbestimmt. Das Problem einer langen Lebenszeit eines Rechners ist logischerweise nicht oder nur bedingt den Herstellern zuträglich. An Herstellung und Verkauf der dann benötigten Ersatzteile verdienen diese logischerweise nichts, weil dieses Prozesse ausgelagert sind. Auch innerhalb der Branche rechne ich daher mit deutlichen Veränderung.
Aber Dank Asus und Intel gehen die Schritte in die richtige Richtung und ich hoffe dass hier noch mehr passieren wird. Mal ehrlich: Außer für aufwendige Film- und Bildbearbeitung 2/3D oder aufwendigen Games braucht kein “normaler” Mensch Rechner die mehr Energie fressen, als ein Kühlgerät, welches immerhin einen realen Nutzen hat.

13,4″ geht doch eher in Richtung subnotebook…
